| Andre Delano, Maxwell's Sax Player, Releases New Single 'Footsteps' Andre Delano's debut album entitled "Full Circle" reflects an R&B-infused smooth jazz mixture that depicts his amazing musical journey. So it's only fitting that the second single released is "Footsteps, " a song that pays homage to his spiritual journey. "My inspiration for the song was the poem 'Footprints.' The poem describes life like a walk on the beach with the Lord, " says Andre. "At times of need, you can see only one set of footprints in the sand and think you've been all alone. In reality, there was only one set of footprints because God stepped in to carry you. "It took me a long time to realize that even though I thought I was alone, there is a higher power here to help carry me through the hard times in my life. When I sat down to write the album, 'Footsteps' was the first song I wrote and it helped set the tone for the entire album." Since his musical career started, Andre, an East St. Louis native, has recorded and toured with Stevie Wonder, Maxwell, Jeff Lorber, Chielli Minucci, Doc Powell, and Bobby Lyle. His touring schedule took him around the world -- to Russia, Denmark, Finland, London, Japan, Sweden, and Holland. While on tour, Andre received critical acclaim from the Los Angeles Times, L.A. Weekly and Rolling Stone magazine. The Los Angeles Times raved that Andre, "Plays with a flair and inventiveness ... He is clearly ready for his own solo career." So, after years of recording and touring with other acts, Andre felt it was time to begin his solo career. Delano's debut album "Full Circle" features guest appearances by guitarists Al McKay (Earth, Wind & Fire), Bruce Conte (Tower of Power) and Dwight Sills; smooth jazz piano virtuoso Kevin Toney and R&B vocalist Terrell. All That Jazz Consulting & Marketing, Inc., the leaders in smooth jazz radio promotion, is handling the radio campaign. All That Jazz has been instrumental in breaking such artists as Boney James, Richard Elliot and Euge Groove, and feels that Andre Delano is the "next" stand-out saxophonist in the smooth jazz format. August 29, 2005 is the radio add date for Delano's new single "Footsteps." write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Jazz News :: home page |
