| Were They Experienced?: ''Jimi Hendrix: Live at Woodstock'' Were they experienced? When it comes to Jimi Hendrix's famous performance at Woodstock, the answer is yes...and if you've ever wondered what Jimi was thinking after playing the National Anthem at Woodstock, then this is your chance to ask Billy Cox, the bass player who shared the stage with Hendrix at the legendary Woodstock music festival, and Eddie Kramer, who recorded the Woodstock festival and also served as Hendrix's long-time recording engineer, who will be on hand at Experience Music Project Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. when EMP and Experience Hendrix celebrates the release of "Jimi Hendrix: Live at Woodstock (Deluxe Edition)" in the museum's JBL Theater. The event will honor the two-disc DVD that captures what is perhaps Hendrix's most famous performance -- the set that closed out Woodstock in 1969. Cox and Kramer will host an exclusive question-and-answer session with audience members following a screening of the film on the theater's big screen. "We are extremely pleased to make available one of Jimi's most legendary performances with this special DVD, " states Janie Hendrix, president and chief executive officer of Experience Hendrix. "We look forward to working together with EMP on this event and know that Jimi's fans will be thrilled to meet and speak with both Billy Cox and Eddie Kramer." "Jimi Hendrix: Live At Woodstock (Deluxe Edition)" features all of the existing film footage from Jimi's celebrated festival performance, including never-before-seen versions of "Foxy Lady, " "Hey Joe" and "Spanish Castle Magic." Also among the extras included on the second disc of the set is previously unseen black-and-white video concert footage, a Hendrix press conference held two weeks after his performance and a documentary about the master's "Road to Woodstock." As many fans might not already know, Hendrix's performance, which was scheduled to close Woodstock on Sunday night over the festival, was delayed until Monday morning due to delays and inclement weather. This set was highlighted by Hendrix's remarkable version of the "Star-Spangled Banner, " which is included on the DVD.
