Sultry afternoon with Jo's Mode Swings

The City of Ottawa and the Nepean Creative Arts Centre are pleased to present Jo's Mode Swings on Sunday, August 21, 2005 as part of the City of Ottawa's Performing Arts Outside free outdoor concert and theatre series. This performance is sure to wow summer audiences with a smooth eclectic jazz sound. The performance will be held at 2 p.m. at Andrew Haydon Park, 3369 Carling Avenue.

Until a few years ago, Jozzé's ambitions and talent as a jazz vocalist were kept a mystery, even from her family. After undergoing two major back surgeries and with a new outlook on life, Jozzé formed Jo's Mode Swings along with members Jean-Pierre Allain (piano), Normand Glaude (bass), Denis Ouellet (drums) and Ian Babb (sax, flute).

She honed her jazz singing style as a participant in "Jazz Singers' Night Out", a programme of the Nepean Creative Arts Centre, with Ottawa jazz great Yves Laroche. Performing Arts Outside is Jozzé's second gig with the City of Ottawa.
