The Mike and Amy Finders Band returns to the "Talk of Iowa"

The program, produced by the University of Iowa public radio station WSUI-AM 910, is broadcast live on public radio affiliates throughout Iowa. The public is invited to join the audience for this 10 a.m. live broadcast at The Java House in downtown Iowa City. In May, Mike Finders won first place in the gospel category of the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest, a national competition held in conjunction with Merlefest in North Carolina. Last year, he won first place in the competition's bluegrass category.

"Mike and Amy's impact on the area roots music scene has been so striking and thoroughly positive that it's difficult to remember what things were like before they landed, " said local music reviewer Jim Musser.

Also, listeners and audience members will learn the finer points of latte art from Iowa City "barista" ( espresso bartender ) Brian Freire. Freire has been an award-winner in two national latte art competitions.

Every Friday morning at 10 a.m., "Talk of Iowa Live from The Java House" offers an eclectic variety of topics and guests for its listeners. Host Ben Kieffer moderates the mix of lively discussion, drama and live music drawn from a rich pool of intellectual, artistic and tuneful talent.
