| Antigone Rising at The Grove's Summer Concert Series The Grove Summer Concert Series rocks out with Antigone Rising, a five-piece, all-female band from New York. The vocally powerful group hit the rock 'n' roll road for the 1998 Lilith Fair Tour and has played with many popular bands including rock legend, Aerosmith. The band will perform from its Starbucks exclusive album, "From the Ground Up, " and their latest album, "Drama Club." Opening for the band is rising star, Kyle Riabko, an old-soul savvy musician who has opened for such acts as John Mayer and Maroon 5. Riabko will perform from his debut album, "Before I Speak, " an artistic blend of rock, hip-hop, old-school funk and Delta blues. A great place for families to spend L.A.'s warm summer evenings, The Grove brings back its free concert series for its third year in a row. An elaborate concert stage will be set over the dancing water fountain, transforming The Grove into a spectacular open-air performance venue. On August 17, the third concert of the series will feature Scott Grimes, musician and "Chief Resident" on the hit show ER, Kenny Loggins and Josh Kelly, a rising star who has toured with such artists as Dave Matthews and Goo Goo Dolls. write your comments about the article :: © 2005 Jazz News :: home page |
