Full Jazz at Lincoln Center Slate Available Through TKA

By signing the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, TKA has now become a one-stop shop for all buyers interested in Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center. After exclusively booking the multi-Grammy winning artist since 2002, Ted Kurland Associates is now booking the world-renowned Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis for performances after July 1, 2006.

With the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra on the roster, TKA is also now home to the Jazz at Lincoln Center's special event programs for international bookings. This select group of Jazz at Lincoln Center Presents programs presently include: “The Music of Miles Davis” and “The Music of Dexter Gordon” and a whole range of educational programs (such as family concerts, workshops, and lectures) in tandem with each offering. Additional Jazz at Lincoln Center programs are being prepared for the 2006-2007 season and will be announced soon by TKA.

Hailed as “the finest active big band, with each of its 15 members a certified all-star in his own right, ” the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra is comprised of 15 of jazz music's leading soloists. Drawing from an extensive repertoire that includes the masterworks of Ellington, Mingus, Coltrane, and other great jazz composers as well as original compositions by Mr. Marsalis, Ted Nash Walter Blanding and other orchestra members, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra's concerts are internationally critically-acclaimed. “The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra is the finest big band in the world today, ” says The Daily Telegraph, UK.

The other resident orchestra of Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, has been described by The Los Angeles Times as “rhythmic energy bursting in all directions.” Led by Arturo O'Farrill, son of the famed jazz musician and composer, Chico O'Farrill, the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra is comprised of 18 prominent soloists from the Latin jazz scene, Orchestra performs the very best of the compositions in the canon of the Afro-Latin genre. The Orchestra leads educational events and commissions new works; providing an phenomenal instrument for a new generation of composers, arrangers and instrumentalists to further progress this craft.
