| Tobago Hosts Inaugural Jazz Festival with Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder and more The first annual "Tobago Gourmet Jazz Festival" is scheduled to be headlined by music legend Stevie Wonder alongside top international acts. The festival begins Friday, August 12 and runs through Sunday, August 14, 2005 and takes place at the Fort James/Plymouth Recreational Field. Notable headliners for the weekend include the Tobago All Star Jazz Band, Layla Hathaway and Shaggy for Friday August 12 with performances starting at 7 p.m. On Saturday, August 13, Najee, Angie Stone, Babyface and the O'Jays will be showcased alongside other acts beginning at 1:30 p.m. The festival concludes with a 2 p.m. concert on Sunday, August 14 with entertainment provided by Mighty Sparrow, India Arie, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder and more. Jazz, soul, funk, rock & roll, pop and reggae are the mixture of ingredients that create the eclectic, vibrant and colorful music of Stevie Wonder, an American composer, singer, humanitarian and social activist who is the recipient of 19 Grammy Awards. Wonder enters his fifth decade in the music industry, delivering 28 major studio releases, with album sales totaling more than 72 million units in addition to scoring more than 30 Top Ten Hits and 11 No.1 pop singles. Festival goers who want to get an early start on the weekend's festivities can do so at the "Tobago Gourmet Jazz Festival Celebrity Golf Tournament" to be held at the Hilton Tobago Golf & Spa Resort, which is located 2.5 miles east of Crown Point International Airport. The resort sits on a 20-acre tropical beachfront and is part of the Tobago Plantations Development, which includes the Tobago Plantations' 18-hole PGA-designed golf course.
