| Osami Mizuno's New Album TENMA Osami Mizuno, a Japanese drummer, just released his first album titled “TENMA.” The music packaged in this CD is based on Jazz, but it is NOT an ordinary so-called Jazz music...it's a mixture of various kinds of music; Jazz, Ambient, Rock, Classical, Japanese and Chinese music. That means, it is the real “Fusion” music. The Personnel of this project is the next:Osami Mizuno (ds),Morgan Fisher (key, arr),Kiyoto Fujiwara (accoustic-b),Liu Hongjun (Chinese traditional instruments),Takazumi Shimomiya (Japanese traditional instruments),Ryuichi Kaneko (Japanese traditional instruments),Ekyou Tsuchida (Japanese traditional instruments),Yutaka (el-g) Osami Mizuno studied with the legendary mentor Alan Dawson in the mid '70s. Since then Vinnie Colaiuta and Steve Smith have been his best friends. While working as a studio musician in Japan, he started his new career as an educator in the '90s to keep Alan Dawson's legacy alive. He published two instruction books, Alan Dawson Drum Method Vol.1 and Alan Dawson Drum Method Vol.2, under the permission by Florence Dawson (Alan's widow). TENMA is his first album as a leader.
