| The first Big Bear Lake JazzTrax Summer Festival ig Bear Mountain Resorts welcomes the first Big Bear Lake JazzTrax Summer Festival, which will take place at Snow Summit Mountain Resort (Snow Summit) on Saturday June 18, 2005 with the first show beginning at 12 p.m. The concert features the Grammy Nominated tribute to Luther Vandross “Forever For Always For Luther” starring Lalah Hathaway, Kirk Whalum, Brian Culbertson and Paul Jackson Jr. The show also features Steve Cole and Steve Oliver. The concert will take place atop Snow Summit with access to the amphitheater via the Snow Summit Scenic Sky Chair. During the summer, Snow Summit converted the East Mountain Express high-speed quad chairlift into the Scenic Sky Chair. The chairlift speed is reduced to allow guests plenty of time to take in the natural beauty of Big Bear Lake and the surrounding San Bernardino National Forest. The Sky Chair will take about 15 minutes to transport concert goers from the base elevation of 7,000 feet to a summit elevation of 8,200 feet where the concert amphitheater is located.
