The Royal Bank Glasgow Jazz Festiva 17 - 26 June 2005

The Royal Bank Glasgow Jazz Festival is expanding, packing over 120 gigs into ten days from 17 to 26 June.

You can hear jazz headline concerts in the intimate Edwardian style Spiegeltent, contemporary jazz at the cca, and see the best Scottish unsigned jazz over three days with "Home Grown" (22 - 24 June). We have late night groove, funk and jazz sessions in the Spiegeltent each night run in collaboration with The Buff Club.

There are also many other concerts happening for free with good time bands at the Big Concert on the Royal Bank Big Stage each evening at 6pm (including Ray Gelato and the Glenn Miller Orchestra) and over 80 free fringe gigs in restaurants and bars throughout the city.

For those into more traditional jazz, the Riverboat Shuffle will once more be sailing away down the Clyde with Jeannie Maxwell and the Jazzwegians (24 June) and in Oran Mor, Jazz on a Summer's Evening featuring Stephen Duffy (19 June).

This year's headliner is Dionne Warwick who performs at the Clyde Auditorium on 22 June.

Jazz Headliners featured include Georgie Fame (17 June), Kyle Eastwood (18 June), Niki King and Marcus Ford with Trio (19 June), Tommy Smith and Brian Kellock (20 June), Acoustic Ladyland (21 June), Fred Frith (21 June), The Soft Machine Legacy (22 June), Courtney Pine (24 June), Anthony Braxton (24 June), Clare Teal (25 June), John Surman (25 June), Gary Burton (26 June)
