| Tomasz Stanko Quartet on Tour March 9-24 Following highly acclaimed tours in 2002 and 2004, the Tomasz Stanko Quartet returns to North America for a 12 city tour running March 9-24th. It cannot be stressed enough how unusual it is for a European jazz group to tour this side of the Atlantic – especially when you consider that the quartet is slated for a four night run at New York City’s storied jazzclub, Birdland. The story of how Tomasz Stanko began working with three very young musicians and ended up recording and touring with them in his quartet, turns out to be only a beginning. Trio, the debut recording by Marcin Wasilewski, Slawomir Kurkiewicz, and Michal Miskiewicz was just released on February 15th.
