Clare Teal sings her way into the BBC History Books

UK Jazz singer Clare Teal sang her way into the BBC history books in the early hours of Thursday 4th November 2004. Clare, accompanied by her MD and pianist Simon Wallace performed three songs live for Janice Long – The last ever session to be recorded for her at the famous Pebble Mills Studios in Birmingham. Clare even had to provide a piano for the sessions as all of the studio equipment had been either moved to the new BBC complex or was being auctioned off. Clare performed three songs, “Messin’ With Fire”, “Falling For You” and “In A Mellow Tone”, and chatted to Janice about how her life had changed following her much publicised signing to Sony since the last time she was on the show only a year ago. The studio finally closed their doors after the show, ending 32 years of BBC TV and Radio programme making there.
