| Dekel Bor Trio with Adam Nussbaum at the WaterColor Cafe The Dekel Bor Trio performed on Wednesday Oct. 27th at the WaterColor Cafe with Legendary drummer ADAM NUSSBAUM! The Dekel Bor trio is a New York City based modern jazz group that is both dynamic and expressive. A diverse cultural collaboration, Dekel Bor, David Ruffels and Nadav Snir-Zelniker are combining the jazz traditions of small ensemble playing with modern world-music infusions. Seeking to incorporate melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic textures within an improvisational framework, the trio has developed a unique and personal interaction based on intensive listening and musical trust. Consisting primarily of compositions written by Dekel Bor, the trio's original repetoire is open to constant expansion and revision through the evolution of its musicianship. Each member contributes an integral element to the ever-changing and forward moving arrangements. Dekel Bor is a 24 year-old Guitarist-composer from Israel. In 2003 Dekel received the prestigious “Young Beacons In Jazz” award. He performed in major festivals with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra as well as with jazz legend Reggie Workman Bassist David Ruffels has performed and played with Joe Henderson,Michael Brecker, and Joshua Redman among many others. Drummer Nadav Snir-Zelniker has performed with such musical giants as Jon Faddis, Dr. Todd Coolman,Arthur Lipner and the David Parsons Dance Company SPECIAL GUEST Legendary drummer Adam Nussbaum is playing regularly with both Dave Liebman and John Scofield (1978-83). Other important associations through the years include Stan Getz (1982-83), Gil Evans, the George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band, Gary Burton, Steve Swallow, Michael Brecker, Don Grolnick, James Moody, Sonny Rollins, Art Pepper, Joe Henderson, John Abercrombie, Sheila Jordan, Kenny Wheeler, Lee Konitz, NHØP and Charles Lloyd, along with countless others. The Dekel Bor trio has been performing consistently in venues such as concert halls, festivals and clubs throughout the East Coast.
