| Nouveau African Jazz-Soul Vocalist Somi at The Blue Note - Nov. 1st, 2004 The winds of autumn have carried SOMI back to The Blue Note for another amazing show! Monday, November 1st, 2004 she will return to the legendary stage to exhale a belly full of stories on life, love, and liberation. Originally from Uganda and Rwanda, SOMI's music gives voice to the post-colonial African experience in the Diaspora with an authentic blend of the contemporary and the traditional. SOMI is currently working on a new recording project entitled “Red Soil In My Eyes” which celebrates her East African heritage while staying true to soul and jazz traditions.
