Andrea Centazzo multi-media project

Considered one of the most influential percussionists of the last 25 years, Italian-American composer Andrea Centazzo has performed, as a soloist and as a conductor, in many prestigious festivals and concert halls both in Europe and the United States. After a decade of focusing on composing, conducting and directing videos, Centazzo has returned to his first love: the solo percussion multi-media concert.

In Mandala, inspired by the name of the Buddhist Universe, Centazzo once again combines percussion, digital percussion and computer sequencing with his award-winning videos to bring the emotion of a new sonic and visual adventure to his audience. In Mandala, Centazzo presents a musical journey through images from around the world, beginning with the Borobodur temple in Java and then moving through Madagascar to Bali and then on to Africa and Greece blending his compositions with the rhythms and nuances of traditional music to capture the mystery and beauty of lost paradises. Breathtaking images of deserts, oceans, forests and ancient cities flow concurrently with abstract video design and are synched with the music to create a highly emotional multi-media experience that is rich in color and texture. Minimalist patterns, combined with his melodic compositions and mystery of improvisation, create an unforgettable audio/visual experience that inspires and transcends expectation.
