| TekTrak’s App Helps Family in Midst of Japan’s Earthquake Tragedy TekTrak, a mobile tracking and security app, enabled a family in Japan to track their daughter's gradual return home on a school bus immediately after the 9.0 earthquake on March 11th. Utilizing the Assisted GPS hardware within smartphones, TekTrak's mobile security app allowed the family to track their daughter's whereabouts through her smartphone. When K.S. from Tokyo could not reach his daughter when the phone network was overloaded, K.S. and his wife immediately went onto TekTrak's website to see their daughter's location through its Location History feature. Once they saw the timestamps in the location history they knew she was okay as they could see their daughter was moving after the earthquake hit. Then, they used the Remote Location Tracking feature so that they could continue to track her progress on her long journey home. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Computing News :: home page |
