Think Product Design Launches New Start-up Support Service

To meet the increasing need from start-ups and SMEs for affordable, effective, product design, Think Product Design has launched its Start-up Support Service. Providing everything needed by growing businesses to turn their ideas into finished physical products, the Start-up Support Service acts as a one-stop shop for product design and development. Available across the UK and based on transparent pricing structures, it includes funding and patent advice, industrial design and transfer to manufacturing, all tailored to the specific needs of UK start-ups.

The new launch adds to Think Product Design's portfolio of services for companies of all sizes. Celebrating its first year of operation, Cambridge-based consultancy TPD provides effective product design built on the concept of achievable innovation.

TPD was founded by Tim Evans, who has over 20 years experience in creating effective industrial designs. In the last twelve months TPD has successfully completed major projects to design wood burning stoves for the iconic Aga brand, and high end audio components for US company Russound. A member of the Chartered Society of Designers, Tim has additionally been selected as a consultant to the Hethel Engineering Centre and has mentored student entrepreneurs at the Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (CUTEC).

The Start-up Support Service includes the following components:
• Product conception;
• Product realisation through advanced computer modelling techniques;
• Usability and ergonomics testing;
• Transfer to manufacturing, including prototyping and component sourcing using strategic partnerships both in the UK and Far East;
• Visualisation to demonstrate potential applications of technology concepts;
• Funding, patent and legal advice to protect intellectual property.
