| SingleHop Offers CloudLinux As One of its Standard Linux OS CloudLinux announces that SingleHop has begun to offer CloudLinux as one of its standard Linux Operating Systems, and as part of its new Cascade hosting system. SingleHop selected CloudLinux because of its innovative Lightweight Virtual Environment (LVE) technology that increases density and stability when used in a dedicated server environment. Cascade is SingleHop's entry into cloud hosting services and products, and CloudLinux is the very first offering that the company is selling in the Cascade line-up. According to SingleHop, the current integration of cloud computing and dedicated hosting is a nascent, cumbersome, and generally expensive technology - all reasons that permeate the low adoption rates from dedicated server users. CloudLinux on the other hand, offers an excellent balance by relying on proven dedicated server technologies and implementing cloud functionalities through LVE technology, which isolates and intelligently manages server resources. The core technology behind CloudLinux OS is its Lightweight Virtual Environment a kernel-level technology that limits the amount of resources (CPU, I/O, memory) available to a group of processes. With LVE, administrators now have the tools to control the CPU and IO demands of individual tenants, so that a single site cannot slow or take down a whole server. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Computing News :: home page |
