| More Customers, More Words in the Cloud SDL has announced that over 200 customers of SDL's translation management systems are now accessing SDL's translation management technology through 'The Cloud' or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). The multi-tenanted architecture processes more than 2.5 billion words per year and hosts upwards of 30,000 active users. Global Information Management solutions are increasingly considered "mission-critical" to global organizations. In an April 2009 survey of SDL customers, 69% of respondents indicated that they had experienced a greater than 20% improvement in time-to-market as a result of using SDL's translation management technology. Customers who opt for hosted or SaaS offerings, also benefit from significant cost savings and reduced risk by leveraging SDL's European and North American data centers to host, manage and support their enterprise translation management solution. Global companies tend to face similar translation and localization challenges. However, varying degrees of budget restrictions and available IT systems and resources often impact their ability to deploy Global Information Management technology. SDL has been active in the hosted SaaS market for many years, providing customers with the flexibility to choose the deployment that best fits their needs. In addition to perpetual license agreements, the company offers solutions through 'The Cloud' or hosted solutions (enabling customers to deploy their solution offsite in a secure data center), as well as yearly or multi-year SaaS subscription models. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Computing News :: home page |
