Talend Positioned by Gartner in the 'Visionaries' Quadrant

Talend has been positioned by Gartner in the "Visionaries" quadrant of the "Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools." In this report, which evaluates vendors based on a set of criteria that include "completeness of vision" and "ability to execute", Gartner indicates that "Despite challenging economic conditions in 2009, activity in the data integration tools market remained strong. Demand for lower-cost tools and faster time to value, new market entrants, and ongoing consolidation via acquisitions of specialists put pressure on both niche and established vendors."

To be included in Gartner's "Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools", Talend had to possess (within its technology portfolio) the subset of capabilities identified by Gartner as most critical from within the overall range of capabilities expected in data integration tools. Vendors also had to meet stringent market size and penetration requirements.

Talend's flagship open source data integration solution, Talend Open Studio, has garnered more than five million lifetime downloads and one million core product downloads since its release in October 2006. Along with enterprise-version Talend Integration Suite, it is a less expensive and more scalable open source alternative to proprietary data integration solutions that require costly initial investment and rely heavily on IT resources for maintenance and upgrades. Talend Integration Suite is an enterprise-grade offering that extends the functionality of Talend Open Studio, with technical support and additional features for collaboration and deployment in large enterprise settings.
