‘Perfect’ Business Processes by 2010

Error free processing and cost savings will be CIOs' top two New Year's resolutions for 2010, intelligent service automation provider UC4 has predicted. The news comes following its acquisition of complex event-driven process specialist SENACTIVE, transforming UC4's offering into an intelligent automation suite.

"The days when we can marry joined up IT process with joined up business operations are just around the corner, " predicted Alan Smith, SVP UK & Ireland, UC4.

"In a challenging economic climate, companies need efficient information for smarter decisions with grade A operational intelligence. With increasing competition, businesses can gain the competitive advantage and apply their IT experience to streamline and monitor business processes at low risk and cost", commented Smith.

The new offering will provide businesses with predictive management and monitoring of processes, allowing real-time insight that can proactively prevent problems before they occur.

Smith's comments came as a Vanson Bourne Poll, commissioned by UC4, revealed 30 per cent of IT directors feel that business focus automation and efficiency had 'increased in the current economic climate'. The results underlined the huge pressure on IT staff needing to keep operating costs low whilst delivering more with less.

"A modern business needs to be dynamic and intelligent with underpinning processes that can predict and prevent issues before they happen", said Smith.

"By analysing process patterns and preparing for changes, intelligent automation can see upcoming errors and potentially catastrophic incidents can be prevented ensuring that business risk is marginalised", Smith concluded.
