| ntl:Telewest Business Launches International IP VPN Service ntl:Telewest Business has announced a new international IP VPN service that will enhance overseas network connectivity for UK mid-market companies. In response to emerging demand from its existing customer base, ntl:Telewest Business with its global network partner, BT Wholesale, is offering companies more choice regarding the procurement of international communication services. By using network to network interfaces (NNI), the signaling and management functions between two networks, ntl:Telewest Business has effectively extended the capability of its IP VPN service in a way that will deliver the same performance assurances to international sites as to those within the UK. The new international IP VPN service will allow customers to continue to leverage the strengths of ntl:Telewest Business' own Next Generation Network for their requirements within the UK. The link between UK and international services will be seamless with ntl:Telewest Business now able to offer Class of Service for its international offering. This will be achieved by leveraging Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with network and router support partners in order to provide customers with optimal network availability, end-to-end traffic performance and fault restoration. Customers can monitor their IP VPN services via an online portal. UK customers can already do this and if they extend the service internationally, the relevant control capabilities will be added to their portal automatically for voice, video and data services.
