As part of the agreement, Trend Micro Internet Security Pro will be available immediately to The Carphone Warehouse customers via all of its UK stores and its online sales operation on purchases of mobile phones, laptops and smartphones. Trend Micro Internet Security Pro has been specifically designed to keep consumers' data and personal information protected from online threats. The cloud-based solution features robust smartphone security, which uses advanced encryption technology to prevent data theft, block viruses and SMS, as well as fighting malware designed to extract sensitive data from a smartphone. With internet adoption rates driven by mobile broadband becoming more widespread, Trend Micro anticipates a rise in cybercriminal activity in this area. Additionally, recent Police statistics suggest that over 800,000 mobile devices are reported stolen annually in the UK. Last year also saw an unprecedented growth in the number and sophistication of computer threats.
