IGEL Launches a Virtual Universal Desktop Evaluation Tool

IGEL Technology has introduced a virtualized version of its new Universal Desktop Linux-based firmware, which provides organisations with a no cost and risk-free way to evaluate the look and feel of IGEL's Universal Desktops. IGEL's virtualized thin client will include a full firmware version of IGEL's advanced pack - with the exception of the Ericom PowerTerm Terminal emulation offering - and organisations will have the ability to evaluate the product on a PC or notebook test system.

The virtual Universal Desktop will run in VMplayer on top of a Windows or Linux operating system. Customers will experience many benefits of the Universal Desktop, such as a rich user experience that is indistinguishable from a PC, and will have access to a variety of digital services, local software tools (e.g. a Firefox browser, media player or a SAP GUI), as well as protocol clients like RDP, ICA, VDM, NX and X11R6.

IGEL's virtual Universal Desktop is available worldwide and can be downloaded for free at this page.
