Canon Unveils Two New Photo All-In-One Printers

Canon U.S.A. has introduced two new multifunction models, the PIXMA MP480 and PIXMA MP190 Photo All-In-One (AIO) printers, designed for simple operation and maximum performance, while also providing new automatic features for enhanced scanning, copying and photo printing.

Equipped with a 1.8-inch TFT color LCD display and easily navigated control panel, the PIXMA MP480 Photo All-In-One combines elegant design with easy operation. Canon has included Auto Photo Fix and Auto Scan Mode, reducing the steps necessary to print a beautiful photo or capture a great scan. Auto Photo Fix, with Easy-PhotoPrint EX software, automatically detects the type of photo being printed – portrait or scenery – and helps to correct red eye, facial tones, brightness, contrast and color saturation to provide better looking photo output without manual photo editing. The PIXMA MP480 AIO provides another convenient feature, Auto Scan Mode, which, detects the type of document being scanned – Photo, Post Card, Business Card, Magazine, Newspaper, Document – and automatically crops and saves files to PDF or JPEG format, based on image type. These automatic software features add one more level of convenience that is sure to be a hit with the less tech-savvy consumer.

The MP480 is capable of text print speeds of up to 20 pages-per-minute (ppm) in black and up to 16 ppm in color, and delivers outstanding 4 x 6 inch borderless lab-quality prints in approximately 45-seconds. The MP480 Photo All-In-One will also feature an optional Bluetooth wireless connection for sending images to the printer.

Aimed at the more economically minded consumer, the PIXMA MP190 Photo All-In-One features a maximum of 4800 x 1200 dpi color resolution, and a minimum two-picoliter droplet size to deliver outstanding photo quality. Text printing speeds are up to 19 ppm for black and up to 15 ppm for color, providing users with high speed to go along with high quality. The printer also delivers 4 x 6 inch borderless photo quality prints in approximately 70-seconds. Additional features include the Advanced Z-Lid expansion top allowing users to place bulkier books or small 3-D objects for scanning on the platen glass and holds them down for a more clear copy or scan.

Perfect for showing off pictures of the family, the wallet-sized photo has been transformed with the new Photo Album 3"x 3" Pocket Size. The ultimate stocking stuffer or personalized party favor, the small pocket-sized album holds 12 different photos, as well as a custom wraparound photo hardcover. The hardcover wrapping can be customized and printed using your own images for a truly unique photo album experience. The albums print out on legal-sized perforated sheets which can then be folded and assembled into the 3 x 3-inch album in just minutes. Twelve pictures help tell the complete story of the family vacation, or give grandparents a great pocket-sized brag book.

The PIXMA MP480 and MP190 Photo All-In-One printers utilize Canon's two-cartridge, four-color FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology with a minimum two-picoliter droplet size and up to 4800 x 1200 dpi color resolution. While the PIXMA MP190 Photo All-In-One supports Canon's ChromaLife 100 system, the new PIXMA MP480 Photo All-In-One supports the new ChromaLife 100+ dye ink, when used with genuine Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II (PP-201) and FINE print technology to produce beautiful long-lasting lab-quality prints with enhanced fade resistance for up to 300 years when stored in an archival-quality photo album.
