| Mistral Introduces IRIG106 Compliant PCM Telemetry Encoder Mistral Solutions has announced the availability of its PCM Telemetry Encoder. Mistral's PCM Telemetry Encoder is a and fully configurable On-Board system designed for analyzing flight parameters in airborne applications. Telemetry is a highly automated remote sensing technique; using which parameters such as velocity, altitude, temperature etc. are measured at remote locations, and the results transmitted to a distant station where they are displayed, recorded, and analyzed. The transmission media may be air, space, copper wire or fiber cable, depending on the application. Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) Telemetry is a way of encoding data in a serial digital format, and transmitting it on a carrier to another location for decoding and analysis. PCM systems are preferred over analog systems as they are less susceptible to noise and due to the relative ease of transmit, record, and analyze digital data. The PCM Telemetry Encoder from Mistral is compact rugged design that withstands extreme conditions and consistently delivers accurate data. Product specifications: • AMCC PPC405 based system; • Comprises of Data Acquisition, Conversion, Frame processing FPGA and PCM output section; • Supports multiplexed sampling of 64 Analog channels; • Conforms to IRIG 106 Standard for PCM Frame Encoding; • MIL-STD-1553 Monitor/Remote Terminal with a dual-redundant bus interface to monitor and capture On-Board 1553 bus transactions; • MIL Grade Aluminum enclosure of 140mm x 110mm x 115 mm; • Operating temperature range: -40°C to +70°C; • Targeted at remote measurement and control for airborne applications. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Computing News :: home page |
