Adobe Announces Scene7 4.0

Adobe has announced Scene7 4.0, a major technology update to its hosted rich media platform designed for eCommerce and multi-channel marketing companies. Adobe Scene7 technology is used by blue-chip companies worldwide such as QVC, Macy's and Levi Strauss & Co. to drive online business through the delivery of high-impact images for eCommerce, Web sites, email and eCatalogs.

New to Scene7 4.0 is an intuitive user interface, based on Adobe Flex, that includes single and accordion pane viewing as well as drag and drop capabilities for improved creative productivity. This version has built-in tutorial resources, such as guides and videos for getting started, as well as visual highlights to assist both novice and power users. Also included is an extensive library of configurable rich media viewers, in multiple designs and styles.

Scene7 4.0 offers integrated building tools for each rich media asset type to streamline workflows and now supports assets created with Adobe Flash CS3 Professional, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe InDesign CS3, Adobe Illustrator CS3 as well as other popular business file types. In addition, Scene7 4.0 includes new integration with Adobe Version Cue CS3 to support Adobe Creative Suite 3 users.

Scene7 4.0 will be available September 3, 2008 in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese.

For Enterprise customers, two editions will be offered — the Enterprise Unlimited Edition, which will include full dynamic imaging, eCatalogs, and the Scene7 Media Portal; and the Enterprise Edition, which will include full dynamic imaging and eCatalogs.

For small and medium size businesses, four options will be offered to meet more specific needs — the Small Business Dynamic Imaging Edition; the Small Business eCatalog Edition; the Small Business Media Portal Edition; or the Small Business Suite Edition which will include dynamic content sizing, zoom, eCatalog publishing and the Scene7 Media Portal.
