| UK Tech Company Expands to Create Global Storm Thunderhead, the UK-based enterprise communications company, is driving aggressive expansion by opening four new international offices within the next month. The new offices – in Zurich, Singapore, Canberra and Melbourne – expand Thunderhead's international reach, adding to its North American offices and Asia-Pacific headquarters in Sydney. This move follows rapid US growth in 2007, where Thunderhead delivered 75 per cent revenue growth last year. Overall, the company's revenue increased 70 per cent in 2007. Thunderhead's Zurich office will be the base for European expansion in the DACH region, which includes Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Robert Hojiemans joins from Business Objects, an SAP company, to lead the office and build on a well established European customer base. Existing clients from the region include Allianz, BNP, Deutsche Bank, Société Générale and UBS. The office in Singapore will enable Thunderhead to expand its presence in the ASEAN region, focusing on the banking, insurance and government markets. David Meeker, whose previous experience includes driving sales for Smart Stream in Asia Pacific, will be responsible for developing Thunderhead's business in this region. Thunderhead established an office in Sydney in 2006, and now two more offices are being opened in Australia to meet continued demand for Thunderhead. John Moran and Peter Coulson have joined from senior positions at Oracle to head up the Canberra and Melbourne offices respectively. Thunderhead is already widely used in the region, with half the financial loans generated in the country being produced using the Thunderhead NOW platform. Existing Thunderhead clients in Australia include organisations such as AMP, ANZ, HBOS, St. George Bank, and the Australian government's Department of Immigration and Citizenship. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Computing News :: home page |
