ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre Receives BD-Live Certification

ArcSoft announces that ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre received BD-Live (Profile 2.0) Certification from the Blu-ray Disc Association on April 24, 2008, the first certification of any PC desktop software from any developer in the world. ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre is Windows XP and Vista compatible software that now complies with the stringent standards and guidelines set by the Blu-ray Disc Association.

BD-Live enables Blu-ray Disc makers to incorporate additional interactive features including downloadable video content, ringtones, games and more. The internet connectivity of BD-Live offers a rich and interactive user experience when watching Blu-ray movies. Content providers may now offer more video trailers on the fly, BD-Live games such as Fox's upcoming title Alien vs. Predator, updated actor's biographies, additional commentaries and language tracks.

ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre has previously received certification for BonusView (Blu-ray Final Standard – Profile 1.1) and AVCHD. The software supports new audio technologies such as Dolby Digital Plus, True HD, and DTS-HD. For the best user experience and system performance, the player is also optimized for graphics-displays using NVIDIA PureVideo, ATI Avivo and Intel Clear Video technologies.

ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre supports playback of all three Blu-ray Disc video formats, MPEG-2, AVC, and VC1 as well as other High Definition content such as WMV HD, QuickTime HD, DivX HD, and H.264 HD.
