Finjan Wins Patent Lawsuit Against Secure Computing, CyberGuard and Webwasher

Finjan announces that a jury in the U.S. District Court of Delaware found in its favor in a lawsuit Finjan filed in 2006. The jury found that Secure Computing, CyberGuard and Webwasher infringe three patents that Finjan created over the past decade. The jury further found their infringement to be willful.

The jury validated the patent claims asserted by Finjan, finding that the asserted claims were valid and willfully infringed by Secure Computing, CyberGuard and Webwasher. The jury awarded Finjan damages on past sales of the alleged products at a royalty rate of 16% of the Webwashers software, 8% of the Webwasher appliance and 8% of the CyberGuard TSP appliance.

"We are pleased with the jury's decision. We will continue to focus our resources on leading the security industry against the latest wave of cybercrime", said John Vigouroux, President & CEO of Finjan.

"It's a great win for Finjan's proactive web security technology. We are pleased with the validation of our patents by the jury", said Yuval Ben-Itzhak, CTO of Finjan.

Finjan's technology is at the heart of Vital Security Web Appliances, a leading Secure Web Gateway utilizing the most comprehensive and advanced proactive web security solution, protecting corporate networks from web-borne threats.
