Trolltech’s Qt integrated in ICD's Software Platform

Industrial Control Design (ICD) and Trolltech with its cross-platform development tool Qt have announced a technological partnership with regard to the integration of Qt on ICD's Control Design Platform (CDP).

CDP is a C++ control system that provides application developers with a powerful toolbox to develop advanced control systems in a fraction of the time otherwise required. The CDP libraries will integrate seamlessly with Qt and Qtopia libraries, bringing together the power of embedded Linux and advanced user interface development in the world of real-time control applications.

Using CDP, application developers can instantly connect their Qt or Qtopia based applications to a wide range of industrial standard interfaces, such as CANopen and Modbus. CDP also provides application developers with an extensive framework for test and simulation, including tools to perform hardware testing.

Customers like Rolls-Royce's Marine division have already positioned CDP as part of their Common Control Platform, making it the core of their control system architecture.
