| Comrades Paying Respects on an Island of Tributes Tribute Island is a digital island in Second Life, which has been launched by lastingtribute.co.uk, a web-based service that gives people the opportunity to leave online tributes and memories in celebration of the lives of loved ones who have died. A key feature of Tribute Island is the memorial to fallen servicemen and women from the conflicts in the Gulf and Afghanistan, who are remembered in their own virtual quarter. As well as the military cemetery, Tribute Island celebrates the lives of some of the world's most inspiring people in a virtual environment where the users can learn more about each tribute, and pay their respects by leaving messages and adding images. Most of the exhibits are interactive in some way, with the island roughly divided into topical areas.
