| Samsung’s Compact Flash Card-sized Hard Drive Enables JVC’s New Everio Ultra Compact Hard Drive Camcorder Samsung Electronics announces that its Spinpoint A Series 30 Gigabyte hard drive is now incorporated into JVC's new Everio GZ-MG730, which is an ultra compact hard drive camcorder. The small form factor of Samsung's Compact Flash-sized hard drive provides consumer electronics and mobile application designers added flexibility in developing new devices with advanced features and high-density storage capacity. By incorporating Samsung's Spinpoint A1 hard drive, JVC's Everio G Series, the pioneer model for hard drive-based camcorders, is also able to offer in its new 2008 line up a high-end model with high-resolution digital camera function as well as high-density storage. Samsung's new Spinpoint A1 hard drive fits within the dimensions of the already widely adopted Compact Flash II card form factor. At just 42.8 x 36.4 x 5 mm in size, it delivers up to 40GB capacity and is 60 percent smaller than the standard 1.8inch HDD that was until recently the only hard drive available in the camcorder market. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Computing News :: home page |
