| PacketLight Networks Completes Sun’s Solaris Ready Program PacketLight Networks announces that its PL-400, PL-100, PL-20 and PL-10 Data and Storage Extension connectivity products have all successfully completed the Sun Microsystems Solaris Ready Program, having met its testing requirements for system compatibility, interoperability, ease-of-installation, functionality, and network interoperability as defined and controlled by Sun Microsystems. PacketLight's variety of efficient connectivity solutions over all common WAN technologies (CWDM/DWDM, Ethernet/IP, and SONET/SDH networks) for connecting between the primary and secondary DR/BC (Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity) sites enables the user to select the WAN interface protocol according to its preferences. The overall DR/BC solution which consists of Sun Microsystems' storage systems, servers, services and management application together with PacketLight connectivity solution is targeted to lower the overall DR/BC project cost by reducing the inter-site connectivity cost and making the solution affordable for larger customer base. PacketLight products cut hardware and operational costs such as maintenance, power consumption and rack space at least in half (when compared to other typical solutions of similar capacity). Companies around the world that need to protect their data responding to the increasing security, compliance and corporate governance issues will benefit from the Sun Solaris Ready certified solutions from PacketLight. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Computing News :: home page |
