| 3D Systems Launches LS 3.44 and OptiScan Software 3D Systems has announced the release of LS 3.44 and OptiScan Software for use with its mid-frame Sinterstation SLS Systems. LS Software drives the company's Sinterstation HiQ, Vanguard, and 2500 plus SLS Systems. These systems use a CO2 laser to selectively melt and fuse powered plastics or metals into solid cross-sections, layer by layer, to form a solid object. This latest version of the LS software, which will be available by the end of October, has a number of enhancements, including the new OptiScan module. OptiScan Software, optional software available for use with LS 3.44 for HiQ and HiQ-HS system users, improves the performance of Sinterstation HiQ SLS Systems by reducing laser scan times, resulting in build speed increases of up to 43 percent. The improvements depend on geometry, layout and number of parts, but the company expects that users can expect a build speed increase of about 10 percent for typical geometries and layouts. One other key feature of the LS 3.44 software is the enhancement of the log file management in the RealMonitor utility. This new LogManager utility software consolidates various log file handling utilities into one, easy-to-use software module. The advanced graphical display mode of the LogManager software, available as an option, enables users to conveniently analyze each build session or a series of historical build sessions in one graphical display, further enhancing the value to users. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Computing News :: home page |
