Maxwell Systems Releases Quest Earthwork 7.0

Maxwell Systems has announced Maxwell Systems Quest Earthwork 7.0, the latest release of its earth measuring software. This release of Maxwell Systems' cut and fill program contains a significant number of new features and enhancements, including the incorporation of new trench features for enhanced viewing capabilities.

Estimators previously had to open a separate program (Maxwell Systems Quest Trenchwork ) for any profile view of trenchwork features. Now, with Quest Earthwork 7.0, they can access the self-contained application for a complete plan view takeoff. The plan view is easier for estimators to read, and gives them a better overall view of the worksite for total control with each job.

Other new Quest Earthwork 7.0 features include Linear Foot takeoff for items like pipe, fencing, and curbs, as well as Count Item takeoff capabilities for manholes, catch basins, and other items. The program also includes a new Trench Templates feature, which incorporates Vertical, V-shape, T-shape, Y-shape, and more.

In addition, estimators can create their own trench templates as needed, and save them for future jobs with similar structures. All of these features enable the estimators to view cut and fill totals on a single summary screen, saving them the time of switching between two programs, and helping them work more efficiently.

Quest Earthwork 7.0's 3-D, Cross Section, and Grid Views all now incorporate trenching, too. In addition, the Summary View totals trench excavation, backfill, and bedding material. This will better help contractors determine their costs, and create an accurate bid from the start.

Overall, Quest Earthwork 7.0 helps contractors measure cut and fill quantities in record time, and instantly get access to site information that manual methods cannot provide. Takeoff simply requires tracing over plans using a stylus pen, first for existing elevations and then for proposed elevations, to generate accurate cut and fill quantities.

The program can also import AutoCAD files, saving the estimator the task of digitizing the plans. Quest Earthwork 7.0 can handle multiple sheets, and works with any known scale in Imperial or metric units.
