| Tiamet to Recommend Comodo Desktop Security Solutions as Part of Its Broadband Wireless Service Launch in Mecklenburg County Comodo says that Tiamet Communications, a new wireless Internet Service Provider serving the rural county of Mecklenburg, Virginia, will recommend to its subscriber base the Comodo free desktop solution suite, including Comodo Firewall Pro. As part of the initial launch, Tiamet has announced that if any computer with Comodo's Firewall Pro has been compromised with a virus, Tiamet Communications will clean the customer's system free. Tiamet Communications is a new breed of wireless ISP specifically created to deliver Internet access to underserved rural communities. In these communities, access to Internet and support services for computers is a challenge. To meet this challenge, Tiamet offers wireless Internet access and PC support services. In addition, to ensure user's computers are free from virus, hackers, and other threats, Tiamet recommends Comodo desktop security solutions to its subscribers. Tiamet decided to recommend Comodo products after investigating many other desktop security solutions and found that Comodo products to be of the quality and reliability that would meet Tiamet's users needs. In Phase 1 of its deployment (already in progress) Tiamet Communications will launch a point-to-point secure 900 Mhz service able to cover wide areas as is needed in rural communities such as Mecklenburg County. Part of this rollout will include basic PC and security training in order to help customers maintain a safe and secure PC. Phase 2 of the deployment will include free wireless Internet access in public areas. As part of this phase, Tiamet will offer Comodo's TrustConnect, a service which allows users to create a secure wireless session in public wireless networks. With Comodo's TrustConnect, users can elect to sign up per session or per month to ensure encrypted and secure Internet sessions. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Computing News :: home page |
