| Lexar Introduces JumpDrive Secure II Plus USB Flash Drive Lexar has announced the introduction of JumpDrive Secure II Plus, a sleek, high-capacity USB flash drive designed for safely storing, transferring, and sharing multimedia and more. It offers the same advanced security software as original JumpDrive Secure II, including 256-bit AES encryption, but now includes an innovative, built-in capacity meter for ultimate convenience. JumpDrive Secure II Plus is compatible with both PCs and Macintosh computers. Like all Lexar JumpDrive USB flash drives, JumpDrive Secure Plus II provides full compatibility with Microsoft Windows Vista. The onboard capacity meter of JumpDrive Secure II Plus solves a common problem faced by many USB flash drive users, namely, how to gauge the available storage space on their drive. The ultra-thin, shatter-proof display accurately shows available storage space at a glance, without even plugging it into a computer. What makes this solution unique is that it requires no software drivers, no administrative privileges, and works across platforms. In addition to the capacity meter, JumpDrive Secure II Plus comes preloaded with Lexar Secure II security software which lets users protect data quickly and easily. Users can easily create multiple password-protected areas using 256-bit AES encryption, and simply drag files into the secure area for automatic encryption. Drag the files out again, and they are automatically decrypted. Secure II software also includes a File Shredder feature that allows users to safely discard files, including the 'digital trail' normally left behind when files are deleted. Files that have been deleted using the File Shredder feature are securely deleted and cannot be recovered by file recovery tools. Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus is available in stores now in 512 MB, 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities. An 8GB version will soon be available. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Computing News :: home page |
