New, Vista-compatible Panda Internet Security 2007 Launched

Panda Software has launched its Vista-compatible version of Panda Internet Security 2007 with a new local backup copy feature. The new function lets users make backup copies of the entire content of the hard disk or of selected files and folders. This flexible system can be configured through a simple console. Users can select the frequency with which backup copies are made, their location (another hard disk, a USB device, CD, DVD, etc.) and even the type of files to back up.

This means that users' information will always be safe in the event of hard disk failure or a virus or hacker attack. Whenever necessary, the Panda Internet Security 2007 backup wizard will take users through the simple process of restoring their files.

The new Panda Internet Security 2007 also has enhanced threat detection capacity with low-level scanning anti-rootkit technology. Rootkits are increasingly used by threat creators to hide malware on computers, even from traditional anti-malware solutions. With low-level scanning, the Panda Software solution directly analyzes the hard disk content, detecting rootkits that could be installed on the PC.

The new version of Panda Internet Security 2007 includes a system for blocking malicious URLs. It uses blacklists and white lists to prevent access to websites used for phishing or identity theft, or which could download threats onto computers. These lists are continually updated from Panda Software's servers.

Existing Panda Internet Security 2007 clients can download the new version free fromhere.
