| Education Authorities Need to Be More High-Tech than the Cyber Bullies Today's news that cyber bullying is still on the increase and technology savvy bullies are exploiting every new fad, including IM and social networking sites, MySpace, Bebo and alike, shows education authorities, schools and head teachers must take more effective measures to protect Britain's youth, warns network content monitoring and capturing software firm, Chronicle Solutions. "Bullying of any form can be devastating for a child and education authorities and school leaders must take a stand against it", commented Alan Watkins, Executive Chairman at Chronicle Solutions. "Schools can tackle this problem from the inside by monitoring pupils' IM and internet usage at school. Our technology monitors all user communications and provides indisputable evidence, which acts as a major deterrent for pupils who may be using school systems to bully." Misuse of school computers during IT lessons and lunchtime can easily be minimised by the implementation of such technology. Alan continued: "Complete elimination of cyber bullying needs cooperation from wider sources such as the service providers, but regulating use of ICT in schools is a step in the right direction. It is a sure way of identifying some of the culprits and allows teachers to act early before the problem escalates further." write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Computing News :: home page |
