Pretec has showcased a new family of patented i-Disk Diamond series flash drive, the smallest USB Flash Drive in the world - i-Disk RFID at CeBIT 2007. Pretec i-Disk RFID leads the new trend of "Store with Innovation", combines the smallest USB flash in the world and RFID technology to a tiny form factor in a sturdy and waterproof construction, which can be conveniently incorporated with any systems in need of both digital mass storage and easy identification. The feature of being automatically identified and data remotely retrieved when i-Disk RFID passes within the proximity of a RFID "reader" and the added feature of ubiquitous USB flash drive, Pretec i-Disk RFID can be widely applied to variety of markets and applications such as hospitals, airports, warehouses, POS systems for access control, asset or inventory management, etc.

With volume of 1.23 cm3 (45.7mmX12.2mmX2.2 mm), 25% smaller than a US Quarter coin, i-Disk RFID is about 1/4 of the size of a typical USB flash drive, an example of another masterpiece designed and built by Pretec for the great expansion of flash applications, especially in the field of medical health record for human and for animals which are being designed-in by a few reputable Pretec partners around the globe. Paper-less and easy access environment for hospital patient care can be achieved by using Pretec i-Disk RFID as a tag (or bracelet, or necklace etc.) for both functions of electronic portable medical health record, and easy and yet secure personal identification. Fabricated by using semiconductor MCP process, Pretec i-Disk RFID is an ideal device for floppy disk replacement, personal identification tag or rugged industrial applications. Capacity ranges from 128MB to 1GB, Pretec i-Disk RFID is sampling now to selective customers with mass production schedule by Q2 this year.
