| Software Planner Provides Graphical Dashboards in Version 7.12 Pragmatic Software Company has announced version 7.12 of Software Planner, its web-based Software Development Life Cycle tool. Version 7.12 includes graphical dashboards, robust project management, Microsoft Outlook synchronization, and email campaign capabilities. The Enterprise offering provides a synchronization API used to synchronize with other data sources. Software Planner's graphical dashboards allow teams to stay on top of the software lifecycle by quickly seeing the key indicators in graphical format. For example, teams can see how each project is progressing towards plan (with estimate vs. actual shown graphically). If tasks are slipping, a slipping graph shows what team members have slipping tasks. For quality assurance teams, graphs show how test cases and defects have trended over time, depicting how well the release is progressing. The dashboards have drill-down capability and custom graphs can be added. Software Planner's project management now provides Microsoft Project import and export capability and the ability to make specific tasks billable for easier client billing. Software Planner's new predictive resource engine automatically flags resources that would be over-allocated as the project plan is built, allowing project managers to drill into the resource to determine how the resource is over-allocated. Software Planner's collaborative tools now support Microsoft Outlook synchronization, allowing individuals to keep their calendar, project tasks and appointments in sync at all times. The contact manager supports email campaigns, allowing teams to send email based newsletters, release announcements and promotions. As recipients read the email and click on links within the email, the click history of each contact is recorded and the sender of the email can be alerted via email, providing instant access to information regarding effectiveness of their email campaigns. Software Planner's Enterprise edition now provides a programmable API for synchronizing data between Software Planner and other systems. This allows automated test case management, source code control and other systems to seamlessly integrate with Software Planner. The API ships with a generic program that provides the ability to sync any ODBC compliant database with Software Planner without any coding required, allowing companies to begin synching information with less than 1 hour of setup. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Computing News :: home page |
