Other World Computing Wins 3 ’Best of Show’ Awards at Macworld

Other World Computing has won 3 Best of Show Awards at Macworld Expo 2007, held last week in San Francisco. OWC won the awards for its newly introduced ModBook, the first fully functional, consumer-ready OS X Mac-based tablet solution. Macworld Expo judges and Macworld Magazine editors selected ModBook from hundreds of exhibitors at Macworld for a Macworld "Best of Show" Award because they felt the product highlighted the commitment Macintosh developers have for the platform.

ModBook was also awarded with the 2007 Macsimum Best of Show Award by Macsimum News, a top-rated Apple, Mac, and iPod online news site. OWC won the award for having one of the most interesting, coolest hardware products shown at Macworld 2007. OWC was also awarded the PowerPage "Best of Show Award" for ModBook by mobile technology site PowerPage.org, who called the ModBook, "The Coolest Piece of Hardware at the show."

Announced at Macworld January 2007, ModBook is an after-market enhancement of the Apple MacBook notebook computer, adding true pen input, a new "anyview" 13.3" wide screen LCD and an optional Global Positioning System in a rugged, satin chrome plated magnesium top shell, while keeping all the features of the MacBook base system. The ultimate on-the-go companion, the ModBook is suited for sales professionals, road warriors, artists, students, and mobile users.

With the award winning Mac OS X and its built-in Inkwell handwriting recognition, up to 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the integrated iSight camera and the CD/DVD combo drive or optional DVD SuperDrive, the slate-style ModBook solution is a suitable companion for applications and situations where a keyboard only gets in the way.
