| Level Platforms Goes Live with Intel vPro Managed Services Solution LPI Level Platforms has announced the release of Version 5.2, taking advantage of built-in manageability provided by Intel vPro technology. Intel vPro technology is Intel's premier business desktop brand for proactive security, energy-efficient performance and built-in manageability to reduce support costs. Level Platforms' Managed Workplace software solution takes advantage of the Intel vPro technology capabilities, enabling managed service providers to remotely assess and repair or reconfigure computer systems even when they are inoperative or unresponsive. Leveraging the power of Intel vPro technology, Level Platforms' Managed Workplace now provides: - Expanded discovery and asset collection information; - Enhanced monitoring and alerting; - Extensive new remote control capabilities. Asset discovery now includes BIOS, CPU type and model number, amount and location of memory (DIMMs) and type of hard drive to help solution providers in troubleshooting and resolving problems remotely. MSPs can now capture and receive early warnings about problems that occur during boot-up, such as Power-On Start and BIOS errors. Remote control capabilities include turning off systems for energy savings, powering up systems, and cycling power off and on to reset systems. The ability to remotely power up systems solves one of the biggest problems that managed service providers face in the remote management of SMB customer sites by allowing them to perform comprehensive routine desk top maintenance during off-hours. For example, MSPs can now apply critical patches and anti-virus updates, perform scheduled backups and carry out other critical automated or manual maintenance at night even if users power off computers at the end of the day. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
