| IT Pro Awards Five Stars to Panda GateDefender Integra 300 IT Pro magazine (UK) has awarded five stars to Panda GateDefender Integra 300. After a series of product trials, the review concludes that Panda Software's appliance is "A smart UTM solution ideally suited to SMBs looking for a one stop shop for all their security needs. It's particularly easy to install and manage and compares very well on price with much of the competition at this level". One of the features of Panda GateDefender Integra 300 highlighted by the magazine is its anti-spam technology: "We ran the appliance in a live environment for over a week where it picked up over ninety per cent of spam and only a small number of false positives. We used the high sensitivity setting but if you feel Panda is being too aggressive you can drop down to a medium or low sensitivity". Similarly, the magazine applauds the Panda GateDefender user interface, describing it as: "well designed and easy to use and Panda also provides a wizard-based routine which steps through the entire process". "Naturally, Panda uses its own anti-virus engine which we've always found has impeccable credentials. It's easy enough to configure as well as you simply decide which protocols you want scanned and how infections are to be handled", explains the mgazine, and concludes: "During testing we grew to like the Integra as it was easy to install and configure and is clearly a low maintenance security solution. SMBs that want an out of the box total security package would do well to check Panda out". Lyndon Chapman, General Manager of Panda Software UK said "It is a real honor for us to receive such a high rating for our products from specialized media such as IT Pro. This is a reward for our continuous efforts to offer users the best security products". GateDefender Integra is a UTM (Unified Threat Management) appliance from Panda Software. This hardware device with dedicated software is designed to protect networks using all necessary types of protection: firewall, VPN service, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), anti-malware, content filtering, anti-spam protection and web filtering. The different types of protection work together to offer complete security against both known and unknown network threats and content threats. The device is installed at the gateway between the corporate network and the Internet or another network, just like a firewall, and is managed through a straight-forward centralized web administration console. Therefore it can scan all inbound and outbound traffic in the corporate network and from some network zones to others, ensuring complete protection for all zones, without degrading the performance of the connection. It also automatically updates the virus signature file every 90 minutes. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Computing News :: home page |
