Toshiba brings the latest addition to its gaming notebook series with the Satellite P100-ST9742 bundled with the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. The Satellite P100-ST9742 features a 17-inch diagonal widescreen display in a 7.1-pound, 1.41-inch slim notebook chassis. The notebook incorporates the latest Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology and the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics card with 512 GDDR3 SDRAM VRAM for delivering high-end graphics for the latest 3D games and multimedia programs, as well as a DVI-D output port to allow users to connect to an HDTV.

The Satellite P100-ST9742 includes features such as a fingerprint reader for one-touch secure access management as well as a Dual Mode touch pad that can provide one-tap short cuts to launch e-mail, an Internet browser and other selected programs, and Bluetooth v.2.0+EDR technology to connect with Bluetooth devices such as wireless gaming controls and other accessories.

Other highlights include: a DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes in up to 11 formats that can nearly double a recordable DVD's storage capacity for photo, music and video files in either DVD+R or DVD-R double layer formats; 5-in-1 bridge media adapter for easy file sharing and downloads; built-in harman/kardon stereo speakers for a rich audio experience; TruBrite technology from Toshiba for a crisp, clear display; updated Mobile Intel 945 Express chipset and the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 ABG network connection as part of Intel Centrino Mobile Technology. The Toshiba's unit also features Genuine Windows XP Professional operating system and is Windows Vista Premium Ready, ensuring consumers will be able to upgrade to Windows Vista while taking advantage of all the opportunities offered by Windows XP today.

Included Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 software enables users to better capture, organize, find and share notes gathered from e-mail, meetings, presentations, classes, the Web and other sources. OneNote captures virtually any type of information — ranging from typed notes to audio — in a single convenient place. All new Toshiba Satellite notebooks are RoHS-compatible, restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances.
