Canon Debuts New Eye Q Capture Review Software

Canon debuts its new Eye Q Capture Review software. Designed for use on the Canon Non-Mydriatic CR-DGi Retinal Camera, the Canon Eye Q Capture Review software is a portable retinal imaging solution that facilitates the capture of patient images, both inside a doctor's office or outside in a public screening setting. The Eye Q Capture Review software has an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop interface that allows for rapid image acquisition, quick review of images in stereo and RGB (Red-Green-Blue) separation modes and automatic image storage.

The software also features Emboss, the three dimensional rendition from a single image that can be viewed at a given set standard of separation without the need of special stereo glasses. When combined with RGB information that isolates the various layers of the posterior pole such as the nerve fiber, retinal structures and choroidal layer, the result is one more piece of information illustrating topographical views of a given area in a specific layer.

The Canon Eye Q line of software offerings is one of the industry's first solutions that offers conformance with the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Standard in ophthalmology. Images taken on a camera using Eye Q Capture Review software can almost instantly be saved in visible light (XC) and ophthalmic photograph (OP) formats, and utilized by other DICOM Standard-conforming systems.

In addition to the Eye Q Capture Review offering, Canon introduces its full line of digital imaging solutions for the ophthalmic world. The product line includes:
- CR-DGi Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera – The CR-DGi camera provides up to 8.2 megapixel resolution to enable the capture of well defined retinal images to help detect and monitor pathologies, including glaucoma and diabetes.
- CF-60DSi Full Digital Fundus Camera – With up to 16.7 megapixel resolution, the CF-60DSi offers PC-based operation and study management, outstanding digital image quality for color fundus imaging, F/A and high-precision ICG angiography. The proprietary control software outputs retinal imaging information into DICOM Standard-conforming systems.
- RK-F1 Full Auto Ref-Keratometer – The RK-F1 Keratometer from Canon, inventor of the first Auto Ref-Keratometer, allows for extremely easy operation with full automatic alignment for Refractometry and Keratometry.
- TX-F Full Auto Tonometer – Using innovative Canon Full Automatic technology, and its 3D tracking system, the TX-F Tonometer allows doctors to perform simple eye exams efficiently and reliably.
