| Jon Hoak Appointed as HP's Vice President and Chief Ethics  HP has appointed Jon Hoak as vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer. Hoak, 57, will be responsible for HP's adherence to its Standards of Business Conduct and report to the company's chairman and chief executive officer, Mark Hurd, until a general counsel is named. Prior to joining HP, Hoak served as senior vice president and general counsel for NCR from 1993 until May 2006 and previously served for three years as an attorney for AT&T. Prior to that, he was a partner at the law firm of Sidley Austin.Among Hoak's responsibilities will be working with Bart Schwartz, an outside counsel who was hired last month to perform an independent assessment of current investigative practices and develop future best practices.
