CRYPTO-Server Solution Praised by Butler Group

CRYPTOCard says its CRYPTO-Server two-factor authentication solution has received high praise from Butler Group, Europe's leading independent IT Research and Advisory organization, for making it simple for organizations to switch from insecure, easily-hacked static passwords to highly-secure and easily-managed two-factor authentication technology.

Butler Group noted that two-factor authentication is becoming more commonly accepted as the de-facto standard for user and systems authentication as companies realize its essential role in keeping data safe and complying with security regulations. Butler Group applauded CRYPTOCard for delivering the strong authentication tools organizations require to switch from an insecure, static password infrastructure to one where strong two-factor authentication for all user types can be easily managed and delivered from a central source. CRYPTOCard was also praised from an operational and business perspective for delivering two-factor authentication with minimal additional complexity, minimal impact on the user, and a measurable ROI.

Developed to meet real-world requirements – where Linux and Mac workstations often live in a mixed Windows domain, with Windows clients and Apache or IIS Web servers – CRYPTOCard's event-based two-factor authentication technology makes it simple and cost effective to eliminate inherently-weak static passwords within a true heterogeneous environment by generating a one-time password for every logon attempt – making stolen credentials useless to hackers. One-time passwords also negate the need for users to memorize credentials – eliminating the help-desk costs associated with resetting forgotten passwords, and the security risk resulting from writing them down.
