Teradata Delivers Linux for Enterprise-Class Data Warehouses

Teradata has shipped an enhanced version of the Teradata database running on the 64-bit version of the SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell. It is available globally for enterprise-class data warehouses. Teradata now delivers the same enterprise-class scalability, availability and manageability with the 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise operating system, as with the Windows operating system and its own UNIX operating system, UNIX MP-RAS.

Teradata selected Novell and its SUSE Linux Enterprise platform because it provides a full range of Linux services to support large-scale enterprises. Novell provides a scalable and efficient solution for enterprise customers who are considering the move to an open-source operating system. In addition to making 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise available for the database, Teradata already offers tools and utilities products that provide the load and access connectivity to Teradata user applications on both SUSE Linux Enterprise and Red Hat Linux.
